IN THE DISTRICT COURT OF BUTLER, ELK, AND GREENWOOD COUNTIES THE STATE OF KANSASAMENDED ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER 24 – 02THE DISTRICT COURT CLERKS’ OFFICES AMENDED HOURS OPEN TO THE PUBLICThis order is in response to the October 12, 2023, Kansas court systems security incident which impacted the information system used by Kansas judicial branch and interfering with the district courts’ access to eCourt. While the incident did impact the district courts’ ability to process electronic filings, it did not bring to a halt the operations of the courts. The courts continued to process filings and the payment of fees through paper filings; fax; and email systems. Now that the Kansas judicial branch has addressed the security incident and implemented new security procedures and policies related to eCourt, the district courts are preparing to return to the eCourt system. The return to the eCourt system will require the district court clerks to maintain day-to-day operations and backload multiple months of filings. It has been determined that uninterrupted, dedicated time is necessary to address certain tasks associated with the revival of the eCourt system. Therefore, it is hereby ORDERED, that effective Friday, February 2nd, the 13th Judicial District Court Clerk’s Offices of Butler, Elk, and Greenwood Counties will close to the public at 12:00 PM Friday, until further notice. This order rescinds Administrative Order 23-14, effective February 2nd, 2024.
